Ferrosilicon smelting furnace produces Silica fumes, Silico manganese furnace emit fumes consisting mixture containing manganese, silica, calcium, magnesium etc. To prevent fume pollution these are collected either by wet scrubbing or through bag house (dry collection) collection. In dry collection manganese is in the form of Mn3O4 where as in wet collection Manganese remains in the form of MnO which is very unstable form of manganese and not compatible in products like cement or other products where it is to go under variation temperature condition resulting into changes in its volume and structure.Manganese in the form of Mn3O4 is most stable form of manganese which is not affected by atmosphere temperature and environmental conditions.
